Where to get the best coffee in LaJolla

Bird Rock Coffee Roasters

At Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, it is all about the coffee. It has coffee bars in La Jolla and Little Italy and a roasting facility in Morena.

Bird rock Coffee Roaster is a world renowned coffee bar. Next door to the coffee bar is the Art Cooperative, a space for Art and Music and they even have a small play area for kids!

I highly recommend trying their Almond Milk Latte!

Bird Rock has racked up plenty of awards in its nearly 15 years of operation. It was ranked No.1 in a Top Coffees of 2016 competition from “Coffee Review,” an online publication, and won a Good Food Award for coffee two years in a row based on more than 200 blind tastings.

The latest news is that Bird Rock Coffee Roasters is poised for growth after selling a controlling share of the company to PT’s Coffee Roasting Company, a specialty coffee brand founded in Kansas and operates a booming wholesale business that reaches over 30 states.

Brick & Bell CafĂ©, located at 928 Silverado st. in the heart of La Jolla Village, is a small, 100-year old red-brick building that houses one of the area's most popular coffee houses and bakeries.   It has been a favorite hangout neighborhood gathering place among locals and visitors alike since it opened in 2003.

Brick & Bell is well-known for its famous and delicious scones and sells about 800-1,000 pieces of pastry each day, with scones as the top seller. Large scones are about the size of one's fist and mini scones are also available in various flavors: raspberry, cranberry, blueberry, apple cinnamon, chocolate chip, raisin, maple walnut, and orange almond.

The maple walnut scone is my daughter's favorite!

They now have a new location at La Jolla Shores located at  2216 Avenida de la Playa.
